Client:

Washington County Water Conservancy District

Description:

The St. George/Washington Canal Pipeline project consisted of 4 phases of construction to pipe the open canal throughout the St. George and Washington City areas. The purpose of piping the canal was to provide water savings, protect threatened and endangered species in the Virgin River, and eliminate the liability concern of safety and canal washouts with residents living in close proximity to the canal. Phase 1 of the project consisted of refurbishing the existing Virgin River diversion structure and installation of approximately 800 lineal feet of 72-inch steel pipe. Phase 2 consisted of the installation of approximately 30,000 lineal feet of 63-inch diameter HDPE pipe, fittings, valves, and appurtenances. Phase 3 included the installation of approximately 13,500 lineal feet of 54-inch diameter HDPE pipe, fittings, valves, and appurtenances. Phase 4 consisted of installing a total of 43,730 lineal feet of 18-inch HDPE pipe, fittings, valves, meters, pig launchers, and service lines.
